Brief
JeelPay is a FinTech company that developed a solution to facilitate the payment and collection process in the educational institutions, where parents can pay the tuition fees in monthly basis as a “Study Now Pay Later” model, while schools can collect their money up-front instead of time-consuming collections.
My Role
Freelance UX Designer, responsible for designing both the app and dashboard for JeelPay.
Process
1. Research and Discovery
Conducted a kickoff session with the project team to understand business goals and desired features.
Performed competitive analysis of similar products like Tamara and Tabby to identify key flows and best practices.
Developed a comprehensive user journey for both the app and dashboard, detailing how requests would be processed and managed.
2. Ideation and Wireframing
Created a screen flow to map the user journey and system interactions.
Designed a low-fidelity prototype to gather early feedback and iterate on improvements.
3. Design and Prototyping
Enhanced the prototype based on feedback, refining flows and user interactions.
Designd a basic brand identity, as the product was completely new, drawing from my existing knowledge in branding.
Built a design system incrementally, establishing core components and adding new elements as the design evolved into high-fidelity.
Designing the entire user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) for the web app.
4. Implementation and Refinement
Supported the tech team by providing feedback and fixes during the development phase to ensure design integrity post-launch.
Challenges and Solutions
Brand Identity Creation: Faced with creating a brand identity from scratch with limited branding experience, I leveraged design principles and research to develop a simple but effective identity.
Design Iteration: Iterated the product quickly by incorporating feedback at each phase, which helped in refining the app and dashboard before final delivery.
Outcome and Impact
Delivered a well-structured app and dashboard experience with a solid design system.
Successfully supported the tech team post-design, ensuring the product maintained its UX integrity during implementation.
